UPDATE FOR THE NWS: 05:30 03/15/2025
Overview: An outbreak of severe storms is expected this afternoon into early Sunday morning. Risks include strong, potentially long-track tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds.
Winds will also be gusty ahead of the storms this afternoon and evening. A Wind Advisory has been issued.
Storms may produce high rain rates, with flooding most likely across the northwest.
Changes from previous forecast: High risk was expanded into the northwestern counties.
Saturday through Sunday Morning:

• All of Central Alabama
When:
• 11 AM Saturday through 3 AM Sunday morning
Threats:
• Strong tornadoes, potentially long-tracked
• 2" diameter hail
• Damaging winds up to 70 mph

It is the goal of Walker County 9-1-1 to provide the citizens of Walker County, Alabama with a quick and efficient method of accessing emergency services using 9-1-1. To obtain this we will use trained professionals and state of art communications equipment.
